The Old Counthouse

Built from local granite in 1825, The Old Count House takes its name from its original role as the place where wages were counted and paid to the tin miners of Wheal Trenwith. Today, this historic property offers comfortable accommodation in a peaceful residential setting, while still being just a 5–10 minute walk from St Ives town centre, beaches and Tate St Ives.

There are six individually decorated, en-suite guest rooms, five of which enjoy magnificent views across the town, harbour and St Ives Bay. Choose from a selection of comfortable doubles and a twin room, as well as a beautiful ground-floor four-poster room with sea views.

Mornings begin with a varied breakfast menu, freshly prepared using local produce. From a hearty Full English and freshly baked croissants to vegetarian choices and kippers, there’s plenty to set you up for a day exploring St Ives.

One of the real bonuses of staying at The Old Count House is free private guest parking – a valuable addition in St Ives, particularly during the busy summer months. Once parked, you can leave the car behind and explore the town on foot.
